Publishing

Layout and Design

Once a manuscript has been finalized, it must be converted into a print-ready PDF prior to submission to a self-publishing platform. (we recommend IngramSpark) While the primary content of a book is its body text, a complete publication also requires professionally prepared front matter and back matter. These elements typically include the title page, copyright page, table of contents, acknowledgments, and an “About the Author” section, among others.

Design, layout, and formatting encompass the process of preparing a manuscript for publication. The final presentation reflects a series of deliberate and refined decisions regarding page dimensions, typography, margins, decorative elements, fleurons, illustrations, ornamental details, imagery, and line spacing.

Copy Editing

If you would like editing for your book, we have editors on our team who will assist you with that. Standard size poetry books and children’s books are included with the publishing package. Additional pricing is available for novels and memoirs to be negotiated with our editor.

Cover Design and Artwork

You may provide graphics created by your illustrator, photographer, or yourself. Alternatively, we can design custom visuals or source high-quality public domain and licensed stock assets that align with your book’s overall vision.

Your cover artwork will be applied to a template tailored specifically to your book’s exact specifications. During this process, we incorporate the ISBN barcode and ensure that the front cover, spine, and back cover are precisely formatted to meet industry standards, resulting in a seamless and professional print outcome.

Production Files

Upon completion of your book, you will receive all finalized PDF files required for submission to an online distribution platform such as IngramSpark. In addition, you will be provided with the original source design files for your records and future use. For added security and continuity, we also maintain archived copies of all design files on our storage systems.

Self-publishing Mentoring & Complete Publishing Process Walkthrough

We provide guided mentorship throughout every stage of the self-publishing journey, ensuring you feel informed, supported, and confident from manuscript to publication. Beyond design and formatting, our role is to help you understand the full publishing process—covering key considerations such as file preparation, ISBN usage, distribution options, and platform-specific requirements. As your project nears completion, we will coordinate a dedicated “publish” meeting, during which we work with you in real time to upload and finalize your book files on your chosen platform, such as Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and/or IngramSpark. During this session, we will walk you step-by-step through the submission interface, ensuring all metadata, pricing, distribution channels, and print settings are configured correctly. This collaborative approach eliminates uncertainty and reduces the risk of errors, while empowering you with the knowledge needed to manage your publication moving forward. Our goal is not only to deliver a professionally produced book, but also to equip you with the confidence and understanding to navigate the self-publishing landscape successfully—both for this project and any future works you may choose to publish.
